What is the yard tour?

The Little Flower Native Plant Yard Tour is a self-guided walking and driving tour highlighting residential landscapes that incorporate Indiana native plants.

Participating properties are identified with tour signs and can be viewed from public sidewalks and rights-of-way. Visitors are encouraged to explore the neighborhood, discover new plants, and gather ideas for their own landscapes.

This project is funded through a grant from the Central Chapter of the Indiana Native Plant Society (INPS).

Why native plants?

Native plants:

Support pollinators and wildlife
Provide food and habitat for birds
Improve water quality
Require fewer inputs once established
Add beauty and seasonal interest
Are an important part of our Indiana culture and heritage

Add your yard to the tour

We're looking for native landscapes to feature on this year's Little Flower Native Yard Tour. We're not looking for perfect gardens—we're looking for real ones. We want to showcase everyday yards where native plants are growing, supporting pollinators and wildlife, and making a difference.

Whether you've replaced a small garden bed or transformed your entire property, we'd love to consider your landscape for the tour.

The tour is completely self-guided, so there's no need to be home or host visitors. Participants will simply enjoy your landscape from the sidewalk or other publicly accessible areas while following the tour at their own pace.

The Little Flower Native Yard Tour is a free, self-guided experience. Use the interactive map below to discover participating properties and visit them at your own pace throughout the tour. Participating properties will also display a Native Yard Tour yard sign. Each stop showcases a unique approach to incorporating native plants into residential landscapes—no two yards are alike!

Tour Etiquette

To help ensure a positive experience for both visitors and homeowners, please:

Stay on sidewalks and public rights-of-way.
Do not enter private property unless invited.
Respect gardens and wildlife habitat.
Do not pick flowers, seed heads, or plants.
Keep children supervised.
Avoid blocking driveways.
Be courteous and respectful of neighbors.
