Indy Art & Seek

Indy Art & Seek is a self-guided public art tour featuring more than 100 engaging and accessible mini-installations, performances, literary pieces, and individual artworks along urban streets, as well as 6 large-scale installations in KIB Green Spaces throughout Indianapolis. Learn more and stay up to date on the project by following @indyartandseek and #artIND seek on social media!

The Otocast mobile app will take you on an interactive guided tour of the public art experience, including “augmented reality-esque” visual performance art.

  1. Download the Otocast mobile app from your smartphone’s App Store (iPhone and Android versions are available).

  2. Turn on Location Services and allow the app to access your location.

  3. Find the project. “Indy Art & Seek” should be the first guide listed. If it is not, search for “Indy Art & Seek” in the search bar.

  4. Sign in to the app to earn badges for visits to any of the 106 public art pieces.

An art intervention is a temporary, usually small-scale, artistic installation or action that changes the perception of a place. For Indy Art & Seek, they are also referring to them as “moments of delight.”

Indy Art & Seek has art interventions in many different media: visual, theatrical, musical, dance, literary, street art, etc. They are physical installations, live performances, and recordings/broadcasts—all available to find as you use the app and explore the city.

Want some examples? Check out the interventions that are only a tiny part of the whole project!
