In 1930, the park added a pool, and in 1962 an ice rink was installed. The park also includes two playgrounds, eight tennis courts, a baseball diamond, softball diamond, football field, fitness trail, beach volleyball court, and a hill perfect for winter sports such as sledding and snowboarding. Ellenberger Park hosts outdoor movie screenings in the summer.

BROOKSIDE PARK
Brookside Park (est.1898) is 108 acres of rolling wooded green space located less than five minutes from downtown Indianapolis. The heart of Brookside Park is the 20,000 square foot Family Center, which was built in 1928. The Family Center is an architectural delight with intricate design and appearance. The Family Center is home to numerous programs and activities aimed at both youth and adults, and has become a popular choice for many family reunions, anniversary events, and wedding receptions year round.

The Shi-Kay offers friendly atmosphere and lots to do! Electronic bowling and golf; pool; soft tip and steel darts! Drink specials daily! Not to mention they often have Sunday Pitch In's!

INDY GREENWAYS
Nearby Ellenberger Park connects to two fully paved Greenways: the Pennsy Trail, and the Pleasant Run Trail. Pennsy will soon run from Ellenberger through Historic Irvington to Ritter Avenue. Plans call for it eventually to reach as far as Cumberland, IN. Pleasant Run Trail is fully paved and finished, connecting Ellenberger to Garfield Park on the South Side of Indianapolis. It follows the path of Pleasant Run, a scenic park filled creek that runs through the Eastside.
Little Flower is also connected to downtown Indianapolis by bike trails along New York and Michigan Streets that offer a safe and quick commute for downtown workers!.
