🐾 Pets of LFNA: Meet Bunny

“Is that Bunny?!”

That’s something we hear a lot around the neighborhood. Bunny Grace Allyn is a bit of a local celebrity, even with people we’ve never met. Joggers double back to say hi. Neighbors call out from porches blocks away. And if she’s in the front yard on patrol, you can expect a steady stream of visitors.

Bunny is a 7-year-old German Shepherd and Great Pyrenees mix with a personality that’s hard to miss. She’s aggressively friendly, especially when it comes to other dogs. The smaller, the better. She prefers to be in constant physical contact with her people and has a very serious love of cheese.

Most days, you’ll find her stationed at the front window on her ottoman, keeping watch over the neighborhood. When she’s off duty, she’s either curled up on the couch or relaxing on her bed with a heating pad.

Bunny got her name because of how she moves. Before being rescued by Love of Labs, she was likely hit by a car, leaving her with severe hip dysplasia. Her back legs don’t work like most dogs, but she doesn’t let that slow her down. When she runs, she hops like a bunny. And when she’s especially excited, she does little hoppy jumps on her front legs.

She answers to many names: BunBun, Bunnus, Bun, and The Big Lady. But around here, everyone knows her simply as Bunny.

We love getting to know the pets (and neighbors!) who make Little Flower such a special place.
