🐾 Pets of LFNA: Meet Penny

“She protects the family!”

If you happen to hear that sung in a Taylor Swift cadence near Drexel and Nowland, there’s a good chance Penny is nearby, doing her job.

Penny is an 8-year-old chihuahua mix with a big personality packed into a very small frame. She’s bossy, mischievous, and considers herself the household’s fiercest protector. Nothing gets past her watch.

At home, Penny is all about comfort and control. She loves blankets, fully believes the bed belongs to her, and has a soft spot for stuffed toys that are somehow bigger than she is. Zebras and Lamb Chop are current favorites.

Originally a Kansas girl, Penny made her way back to Indianapolis with her humans and has been happily settled in Little Flower since September 2025. These days, she keeps a close eye on the neighborhood, making sure everyone stays exactly where they should be.

Small but mighty, Penny takes her role very seriously. And just in case you forgot, she’ll remind you… she protects the family.
