Summer Fun Starts at Indy Parks

Summer is officially here and Indy Parks is packed with ways to stay active, cool off and connect with the community. Whether you’re looking for family fun, outdoor concerts, activities for kids or a place for your dog to run, there’s something happening in parks across Indianapolis this season.

Indy Parks pools and splash pads are a favorite way to beat the heat, with locations throughout the city offering affordable summer fun for families. Many neighborhood parks also feature splash pads that are free and easy to access on hot afternoons.

Music lovers can enjoy the 2026 Indy Parks Free Concert Series, which brings live performances to parks around the city all summer long. Grab a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy an evening outdoors with neighbors and friends. Concerts feature a variety of musical styles and are free to attend.

Dog owners also have plenty of options this summer. Indy Parks maintains several dog parks where pups can socialize, exercise and cool off alongside their humans. Popular spots include Broad Ripple Park and Eagle Creek Park, both offering plenty of room to roam.

For families with children, Indy Parks Summer Day Camps offer programs focused on swimming, arts, sports, nature, recreation and science. Camps are available throughout the city and scholarships are offered for qualifying families to help make summer programming accessible to more children.

Indy Parks also continues its free meals program, which has served millions of meals to local residents over the years and helps ensure children and families have access to nutritious food throughout the summer months.

Beyond these highlights, Indy Parks offers hundreds of seasonal activities, trails, recreation programs and events designed to help residents enjoy the outdoors all summer long. From pickleball and nature programs to playgrounds and neighborhood festivals, there are countless ways to explore the parks system this year.

How will you be using Indy Parks this summer?
