Why Buy It? Borrow It! Discover IndyPL’s Library of Things 🧰

Did you know that our neighborhood Resource Guide can help you find tools and equipment you might only need once in a while?

The Little Flower Neighborhood Association created the LFNA Resources Guide to make it easier for neighbors to connect with helpful programs, services and tools in our community. If you haven’t explored it yet, it’s worth a look!

Finding this resource on the LFNA website only takes a couple of clicks:

  1. Visit the LFNA website: https://www.littleflowerindy.org/about-3

  2. Click Find the Resource Guide

  3. Select Construction, Digging and Tools

  4. Click IndyPL Library of Things

From there, you’ll discover an amazing program offered by the Indianapolis Public Library called the Library of Things.

What is the Library of Things? 📦

The Library of Things is a special library collection that allows you to borrow more than just books. Community members can check out a wide variety of nontraditional items that support learning, creativity, home projects, and fun. Many of these items are things people might not want to buy because they’re expensive or only used occasionally—but they can be incredibly useful when you need them. Depending on what’s available, you may find items such as tools, equipment for projects, creative kits or other helpful gear that you can borrow using your library card.

Why it’s great for neighbors 🤝

Programs like the Library of Things make it easier for people to try something new, complete a home project, or access equipment without the cost of purchasing it. Libraries across the country are expanding collections like this so community members can borrow items ranging from crafting tools to cooking equipment and outdoor gear. For Little Flower residents, this means more access to tools and resources right here in Indianapolis.

Take a look 🔍

If you’re planning a project, learning a new skill or just curious about what’s available, explore the Resource Guide and check out the IndyPL Library of Things.

You might discover exactly what you need—without having to buy it.

And if you haven’t already explored the Little Flower Resources Guide, now is a great time to see what else is available to support our neighborhood!
